Multibar Angelfish (Paracentropyge multifasciata) Care
The Multibar Angelfish, Paracentropyge multifasciata, is also known as the Barred Angelfish, Many Banded Angelfish, and Multibarred Angelfish. They are most commonly found in the Indo-Pacific regions, including along the Great Barrier Reef. The Multibar Angel has black and yellow vertical stripes along its entire body and the tail is light yellow with tiny black spots. Juveniles have a blue eyespot at the back of the dorsal fin.
These fish are omnivores, but very picky eaters, which can make them difficult to keep in captivity. They should be fed a mix of live sponges, angelfish food, and small meaty foods.
Multibar Angelfish do best in tanks that are at least 70 gallons or more and have plenty of live rock to graze on and hide in. They do not do well with other angelfish in the aquarium and are very shy.
