Overview
The Multicolor Angelfish, Centropyge multicolor, is also known as the Pastel Pygmy Angelfish or Many-colored Angelfish. These fish come from across the Pacific Ocean region. They have a cream-colored top that fades to yellow as it reaches the belly. The caudal fin is yellow and the dorsal and anal fins are a dark blue. The area above and behind the eyes is also dark blue with bright blue lines.
Multicolor Angelfish are omnivores and should be fed a diet of marine algae, angelfish food, and a variety of small meaty foods. They do best in an aquarium that is at least 75 gallons or more and has plenty of live rock to graze on and hide in. These fish do not do well in an aquarium with other angelfish.
They are considered reef safe with caution because they have been known to nip at clam mantles and corals. These fish are very sensitive to elevated levels of copper in the water.
