Wartskin Angler (Antennarius maculatus) Care
The Wartdkin Angler, Antennarius maculatus, is also known as the Warty Frogfish, Clown Frogfish, and Wartskin Frogfish. These fish come from the Indo-West Pacific region. Although they can change colors to blend in with their surroundings, they are often a light yellow or white with pink or brown saddles and splotches on the body.
Anglers are carnivores and should be fed a diet of small feeder shrimp and fish, preferably marine species. They may eat small tankmates, including fish and inverts their own size. They use a bait-like appendage, called the esca, to attract prey within striking distance. They should be fed at least a couple of times a week.
They require an aquarium of at least 20 gallons, preferably with live rock.
