Swalesi Basslet (Liopropoma swalesi) Care
The Swalesi Basslet, Liopropoma swalesi, is also known as Swales Basslet and the Swiss Guard Basslet. These fish come from throughout the Western Pacific Ocean. The body is an off-white color with several red horizontal lines and a black spot on the dorsal and anal fins.
They are carnivores and should be fed a diet of small meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp, copepods, small marine fish, and other frozen foods.
Swalesi Basslets require an aquarium of a least 10 gallons that have plenty of live rock with hiding places. In nature, these are deep water fish and they prefer lower lighting and are considered reef friendly with caution. They will establish their territory in an aquarium and should not be housed with others of their species.
