Golden Tiger Blenny (Ecsenius sp.) Care
The Golden Tiger Blenny, Ecsenius sp., comes from the Indo-Pacific region. They have an orange/tan striping patterns, similar to a tiger, and a golden head with spots.
These blennies are herbivores and require a diet rich in plant matter. In addition to controlling algae growth in the tank, they will eat frozen and dried forms are marine algae. They should be fed as often as necessary to keep them healthy. It is important to ensure that other, more aggressive fish are not preventing your blenny from getting food.
These fish require an aquarium of at least 30 gallons that has plenty of live rock with hiding places. Blennies love to hide in rocks with only their head out so they can survey their surroundings. They should be housed with other peaceful tankmates.
They are considered reef safe and is peaceful but has been known to pick on other fish or nip at corals and sessile invertebrates in smaller tanks.
