Tail Spot Blenny (Ecsenius stigmatura) Care
The Tail Spot Blenny, Ecsenius stigmatura, is also known as Tailspot Coralblenny. These fish come from the Western Pacific region. They have a blue head, an orange-brown body, and a black and yellow band around the eye that resembles a target. They also have a large black spot on the caudal peduncle.
Blennies are a wonderful addition to aquariums whether you are a beginner or an expert, they have great personalities and are peaceful, easy to care for and typically reef safe.
These blennies are herbivores and require a diet rich in plant matter. In addition to controlling algae growth in the tank, they will eat frozen and dried forms are marine algae. They should be fed as often as necessary to keep them healthy. It is important to ensure that other, more aggressive fish are not preventing your blenny from getting food.
These fish require an aquarium of at least 30 gallons that has plenty of live rock with hiding places. Blennies love to hide in rocks with only their head out so they can survey their surroundings. They should be housed with other peaceful tankmates.
