Bicolor Dottyback (Pictichromis paccagnellae) Care
The Bicolor Dottyback, Pictichromis paccagnellae, is also known as the also called the Royal Dottyback and the False Gramma Dottyback. These fish come from the Western Pacific Ocean. The front half of the body is a bright purple and the back half is a vivid yellow.
Dottybacks are very territorial and will hold their ground again fish significantly larger than themselves.
These fish are carnivores and require a diet rich in both meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and finely chopped seafood.
The Bicolor Dottyback can grow to be about 3″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons with live rock and plenty of room for swimming. They should be kept singly or as a mated pair.
These fish are hardy, easy to care for, and will not bother coral; however, they are known to nip at small invertebrates.
