Purple Stripe Dottyback (Pseudochromis diadema) Care
The Purple Stripe Dottyback, Pseudochromis diadema, is also known as the Diadem Dottyback. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a yellow body with a purple band that starts on the head and travel across the top of the body to the tail.
Dottybacks are very territorial and will hold their ground again fish significantly larger than themselves.
These fish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and finely chopped seafood.
The Purple Stripe Dottyback can grow to be about 3″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons with live rock and plenty of room for swimming.
They will leave coral alone but may harass and eat other fish and invertebrates in the tank.
