Springeri Dottyback (Pseudochromis springeri) Care
The Springeri Dottyback, Pseudochromis springeri, also known as the Blue-Striped Dottyback and Springer’s Dottyback. These fish come from the Western Indian Ocean, specifically the Red Sea. They have a dark blue body with two light blue streaks on the face.
Dottybacks can be very territorial and will hold their ground again fish significantly larger than themselves.
These fish are carnivores and require a diet rich in both meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and finely chopped seafood.
The Springeri Dottyback can grow to be about 2″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons with live rock and plenty of room for swimming.
These fish are hardy, easy to care for, and will leave coral alone; however, they are known to nip at small invertebrates.
