Diamond Goby (Valenciennea puellaris) Care
The Diamond Goby, Valenciennea puellaris, is also known as the Diamond Watchman Goby, the Maiden Goby, and the Orangespotted Sleeper Goby. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a white body with horizontal rows of orange spots and blue to whitish streaks or spots on the head.
These fish are a great fish for beginners.
These gobies are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood. They will constantly sift the sand for food and to build burrows.
Diamond Gobies require an aquarium of 30 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
