Griessingei Goby (Discordipinna griessingeri) Care
The Griessingeri Goby, Discordipinna griessingeri, is also known as the Spikefin Goby and the Flaming Prawn Goby. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a white body with strong orange markings and dark spots on their face; they are distinguished by large dorsal fin.
These gobies are omnivores and require a diet rich in meaty and plant foods, such as marine algae, mysis and brine shrimp, and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood.
Griessingeri Gobies require an aquarium of 10 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
