Bluestripe Neon Goby (Elacatinus oceanops) Care
The Bluestripe Neon Goby, Elacatinus oceanops, is also known as the Blue Neon Goby and the Neon Goby. These fish come from the Western Central Atlantic region. The body is black with a bold horizontal neon blue band that runs the entire length of the body.
These fish are a great fish for beginners. Neon Gobies are cleaner fish and will pick parasites off larger fish.
These gobies are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood.
Neon Gobies require an aquarium of 10 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
