Two Spot Candy Hogfish (Bodianus bimaculatus) CARE
The Two Spot Candy Hogfish, Bodianus bimaculatus, is also known as the Twospot Hogfish, Twinspot Hogfish, and the Yellow Candy Hogfish. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a yellow body with red horizontal stripes two black spots, one at the base of the tail and the other behind the head.
Hogfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood. They should be fed multiple times a day.
Two Spot Candy Hogfish reach lengths of up to 4″ and require an aquarium of at least 30 gallons with plenty of rock for hiding and lots of room for swimming. Unlike many other hogfish, these are peaceful and reefsafe.
