Purple Reef Lobster (Enoplometopus debelius) Care
The Purple Reef Lobster, Enoplometopus debelius, is also known as the Polka-dot Lobster and the Pink Spotted Lobster. These lobsters come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a reddish-purple body with orange and purple spots.
They are omnivores and require a diet rich in both plant and meaty foods. Although they will normally get most of their food from leftover scraps in the tank, you may supplement their diet with mysis and brine shrimp, small strips of fresh seafood, and high-quality frozen, flake and pellet foods.
They can get up to about 5″ in length and require an aquarium of at least 90 gallons with plenty of live rock. They are semi-aggressive and may attack smaller invertebrates and fish. They do not do well with other Purple Reef Lobsters.
